I’m excited to share that the November Book of the Month is All My Knotted-Up Life, Beth Moore’s captivating autobiography! As part of our “Book of the Month” initiative, I aim to explore diverse genres, and this is our first autobiography—though I have more lined up, including some engaging fiction for 2025!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Beth Moore, for the last 30+ years she has been an absolute powerhouse Bible teacher and author. Her infectious energy and captivating storytelling has been used by God to help the Bible come alive to her audience. With humility and authenticity, she not only explains the Bible but also connects deeply with her audience through her workshops, conferences, and Bible studies, impacting countless lives across generations.
Most of Beth Moore’s teaching is directed towards women, but I will say that I have watched a number of her Bible Studies and been deeply impacted by them. Also, as you will read in her autobiography (here’s a quick excerpt), she has recently transitioned to being an active member of a small Anglican Church in her home state of Texas that is in the same Province (denomination) as Redeemer. It was fascinating (and heartbreaking) to hear about her leaving her previous denomination and finding a home at the liturgical Anglican Church.
(It’s important to note that sharing this book isn’t meant to cast a negative light on the Southern Baptist Church. Though I haven’t been part of that community, I have deep respect for many within it, including pastors in Atlanta. My hope is that the Lord continues to bless and guide their ministries!)
